If people contact you linking to a deviantart auction, saying the winner couldn't pay and they are contacting the runner-ups - please please please look CAREFULLY at their URL. Compare the profile of the one they link to, and the one you come to when you are actually being chatted by. ESPECIALLY if they use lowercase L or uppercase i, since l and I look identical in many fonts (and in the font used on deviantart)!

Stay vigilant. If things feel fishy, they very likely are!

So, this past month I have twice been contacted by artists whose auctions I bid on. Two years ago. I didnt win either at the time, but they claim the winner wasn't able to pay, so they go back to check

One was fishy in that the description text clearly said "owner: whoever-it-was", and after i gave a little 'lol that was two years ago' reply, they blocked me

The second happened just now, and I was blocked again. No reply after, just blocked. (I double checked by going on dA on a browser without logging in)

I cant say for sure if I just really offended them or if they really are scammers - but please be careful, y'all
